Hi everybody!
My name is Noor Hoppenbrouwers and next year I will be chair of the RAGweek Nijmegen Foundation. I am twenty years old and in my third year of my bachelor’s in Linguistics. I am the only one on our board who was born and raised in Nijmegen, but unfortunately that does not mean that I already know our beautiful city like the back of my hand. I grew up in Lent, but they have missed me there for a while now as I spent most of my time last year on the 12th floor of the Erasmus building. I had my place there in the boardroom of InTenS, the study association for Linguistics. Last year I lovingly took minutes and sent emails as Secretary, but you can learn to delegate and now I am mainly allowed to do the talking. I also enjoyed organizing activities for RAGweek last year (it was really great selling sausages on sandwiches), that even though I had promised my parents not to do another board year, I decided to take a leap of faith and add another year. I think I landed pretty well.
Boredom is a word I don’t know, because I can always think of a new hobby. At this moment I write, crochet, knit, draw, sing, read, play sports, etc. Preferably all at the same time. I also don’t say no to a party or a cup of tea. And with a bit of luck I will also get around to studying. When I’m not chatting with people.
I can’t wait to get to work for RAGweek and the charities and to have a wonderful year with my wonderfully magical board members!
If you have any questions or would like to take a moment to enjoy the comfortable sofas in the RAG room: you are very welcome. There’s a chance that I’m hiding in the workbooth in the room (probably trying to study), but be sure to knock on that door!
Love,
Noor
